Empowered to be caring individuals
Creativity, action and service, are the three core elements that make up the compulsory IB CAS component. Starting in Grade 11 and all the way through to Grade 12, all our students are guided and encouraged to discover their interests and follow their passions through a variety of ‘CAS Activities’.
Last week UAS opened it’s doors to people of determination for some fun with art. A group of High School CAS students teamed up with our visitors and spent a couple of hours doing a range of artistic activities. This wonderful initiative, spearheaded by Ms. Emily Ray in High School was started last year and is open to all members of our community. Stay tuned to our news for future events.
Our students’ wholehearted involvement in this activity, as seen in these photographs, are a true testament to the values of our mission as well as those of the CAS program which aims to provide “opportunities for self-determination and collaboration with others” as well as to foster “a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment from their work.” (source: https://www.ibo.org/programmes/diploma-programme/curriculum/creativity-activity-and-service/)
